Spiritual Characterisics as seen in the Book of Philippians

1.3 Thankful (nature or character of thankfulness)
           to God for every remembrance of (you) other believers

1.4 Making request with a joy (joy [cheerfulness] that is an intended, directed or purposed attitude and action, We choose how we will react to circumstances.)

- based upon their actions  -   v5 for their fellowship (partnership, participation) in the gospel
- Based upon the promises of God  -  v6 being confident (convinced)... that he which hath begun a good work in you shall perform (fulfil completely) it until the day of Christ

1.8 longs for them all in the bowls (inward affections, [spleen]) of Christ Jesus

1.9 Prays that

their love may abound yet more and more

in knowledge (recognition, that is, (by implication) full discernment, acknowledgement:)
in all judgement  (perception, that is, (figuratively) discernment:)
Note Proverbs on these subjects

1.10 They may approve (test for approval) things that are excellant (that which surpasses) that they may be sincere (judged by sunlight) and without offence (actively inoffensive, that is, not leading into sin; passively faultless, that is, not led into sin:)  til the day of Christ

1.11 That they may be filled with the fruits of righteousness
          [which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God]

PAUL'S DESIRE FOR OTHERS

let nothing be done through

FOR THE SPIRITUAL

Purpose is given - to shine as lights

CHAPTER 4
