  1. Anything that is done or comes to pass;
    an act or deed;
    an effect produced or result achieved;
    and event;
    also, anything regarded as actually existent whether it be an object, event, condition, or relation, and whether material or mental;

    a true or correct statement: somethimes applied even to a general or abstract truth.
  3. The statement of a thing as done or existing and alleged to be real;
    something asserted to have occurred or existed: as a secondary use of the word;
    as, I doubt his facts.
